Age 64 Mr. Zaki and seven friends rent a room in Klang. He has diabetes, hypertension, and osteoarthritis.
He lives alone in Malaysia because his wife passed away a few years ago, he has no children, and his family is in Indonesia. His Social Service Department payment of RM300 goes to his RM250 monthly housing rental. The remaining RM50 covers monthly food and rations. He relies on friends for meals daily. Mr. Zaki walks an hour to the clinic for his appointment despite his major concern being food and everyday expenses. He is dedicated to family physician follow-ups. Uncontrolled diabetes requires twice-daily insulin. His incorrect insulin administration technique has caused continuous elevated sugar. Mr. Zaki can't afford new needles, so he only changes them monthly (one needle per month).
We believe in providing care for patient holistically. A family medicine physician go beyond medical care. We look into patient’s mental health, what are their main concern and other social issues. By resolving main concern, you improve ones mental health and automatically providing good medical care for them, lifelong. Thank you for making this happen.
